And Then It Rained

Then it Rained, Oil on Canvas 11" x 14"

I ventured out last Wednesday with Clawed to paint. The weather forecasters had predicted sun for the morning, rain for the late afternoon.  When I left the house around 8:30, it was getting cloudy. As I started to paint, clouds to the north and west were dark. About forty-five minutes into painting, it started to rain. Not wanting to deal with wet dog, I put Clawed into the car (he did not seem to mind). I moved quick to record as much information as I could before any downpour. Interesting trying to apply oil paints onto canvas which is slightly wet.

Fortunately, the rain let up after a few minutes. When it appeared that we would avoid any immediate downpour, I brought Clawed back to the site and continued to paint. Over the next hour or so that I painted, it sprinkled here and there but nothing serious.

The afternoon did not deliver the showers promised. In the words of Homer Simpson, “Stupid weather forecasters”.
