River Road, Oil on Canvas 11" x 14"

Our Eagle’s Nest group was scheduled to meet in Byron to paint. The spot is a group of farm buildings adjacent to a natural prairie park.

I arrived to find that I was the only one present. Either I was that early or I would be the only one painting that day. Embarrassed to admit it, but seldom am I early. Did I get the right date? Do I have the right location? Oh well, assume that I got it right. Clawed and I walked the grounds to find a spot for painting. Just before setting up, a couple other members of the group arrived. While Clawed and I set up at the side of the road, the other members decided to work from inside one of the buildings.

This road was busy with car and truck traffic. Clawed seemed to enjoy watching all the action. My spot was shaded by trees. For the first time in awhile, I had to resort to wearing my sweat shirt to keep warm. Just a reminder that it is autumn and colder weather is coming. Very enjoyable to capture the changing colors in the foliage.
