Rock Cut Path

Rock Cut Path-Study, Oil on Canvas 8" x 10"

This is a path near a fishing shelter in Rock Cut State Park. I did a few paintings at the shelter last fall. I had to cross this path on my route to the shelter. I started this painting with washes of Terra Rosa, then worked the shaded areas of the trees and the foreground shadows. The use of  red (Terra Rosa) in the foliage really makes the greens work better.
