Plein Air – Rock Cut October 21: Oil on Canvas Panel 6″ x 8″

Since mid-September, my week nights have been busy teaching Watercolor classes Monday through Thursday. As much fun as that is, my Blog has suffered a bit. Sorry.

Late October and I NEEDED to get out and paint. I headed out to Rock Cut early in the morning. It was supposed to be clear. Nope. Sun was in and out of clouds that added some difficulty which I did not need. As I arrived at RC, I noticed that the temperature was reading 38 degrees and it was windy.

I found a scene that held some interest and, thanks to vegetation, offered some break from the wind. I had a good hat too.

Not my best effort. The change in lighting, eyes tearing up from the wind and difficulty keeping my focus did me in. Still, it was fun being out painting.
