Marigolds in Blue Pot; Oil on Canvas Panel 12″ x 9″

Shopping for annual flowers to place in the garden, we came across some interesting marigolds. I purchased them specifically to decorate a blue ceramic planter.

A beautiful, sunny summer morning was calling for me to paint en plein air. Saw this planter and decided to paint the display. Timed my work well. As I was nearing completion, the sun shown nicely across the marigolds and blue pot. Love the contrast of the deep blue of the pot with the yellow-gold and orange of the marigolds.
