Bayside path - Oil on Canvas - 24" x 12"

Bayside path – Oil on Canvas – 24″ x 12″

Have a small, 8″ x 6″, plein air painting which was created a couple years ago. Pulled it out of the “idea” pile when I wanted to play with clouds and needed a landscape to go along with my idea. Grabbed a 12″ x 24″ canvas and went at it. Had to enhance the atmospheric perspective to add depth to the work, Also reduced to reflection of the mass across the bay to enhance the effect and allow me to infer the reflections of the clouds.

Olson Overflow #2; Oil on Canvas 48″ x 36″

After creating Olson Overflow (18″ x 24″), I felt that the design could make an interesting impact in a larger format. Really played with the intensity of the color in the foreground water.

Had this painting on display this last weekend at ArtScene. I was fun to watch people get stopped by this work. Especially gratifying that even in poor lighting, people were caught by this.
